Terms and Conditions

General

  • The Subscriber has the right to request for Star Points from any of the partnering Merchants.
  • Subscriber can collect Star Points for transactions made over Rs.100.00 (ie. Minimum Bill value should be Rs.100.00).
  • At the time of Redemption Subscriber should maintain a minimum balance of 100 points.
  • One (01) point is equivalent to Rs.1.00 (One Rupee)
  • Subscriber shall be responsible to provide the correct Dialog subscriber Mobile Number and shall check and confirm the transaction details with the Merchant.
  • When carrying out Redemption and Reversal Transactions Subscriber should provide the Authentication Code to the Merchant.
  • Subscriber shall request for Reversals within five (05) days from the transaction date. If not, the Merchant shall not do any Reversals. If the transaction date has been exceeded by more than five (05) days Subscriber shall not be entitled for any for Reversals.
  • The Subscriber may request to Redeem the accumulated points as long as the Subscriber’s Dialog mobile connection is active. Further, Subscriber can also request for Reversals as long as the Subscriber’s Dialog mobile connection is active. (Example: If the Connection is one way barred or connection is active the Subscriber can do Redemptions or Reversals. If the connection is two way barred or permanently disconnected, then the Subscriber shall not be able to do Redemptions or Reversals).
  • The Subscriber may inquire his/her Star Points balance from the Merchant. In addition to this service Customer can also inquire the balance using his/her mobile.
  • The Subscriber shall indemnify Dialog from whatsoever liability arising out his/her being a member of the Star Points Program.
  • Subscriber shall immediately inform any loss of the mobile phone with the mobile connection to Dialog. Dialog shall not be liable for any transactions carried out fraudulently during such time period.
  • The Subscriber shall indemnify and keep Dialog fully indemnified from and against all actions, claims, demands, cost, expenses, liabilities, loss, damages or other monetary relief brought, made or awarded against or incurred by DIALOG resulting (directly or indirectly) arising out of any transaction carried out by the Subscriber with the Merchant.
  • Dialog nor any of their respective suppliers makes any representations or warranties, express or implied, including without limitation any warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, with respect to any of the services furnished by the Merchant or Dialog.
  • Dialog shall be entitled to suspend or terminate a Subscriber from Star Points loyalty scheme at its discretion.
  • Dialog shall be entitled to from time to time amend and vary the terms and conditions mentioned herein.

Terms and Conditions applicable to Star Points Loyalty Card

1. The Subscriber has the right to request for Star Points from any of Star Points Partner Merchants / Merchants (any organization which has joined Dialog’s Star Points Programme).

2. To redeem Star Points a Subscriber should have a minimum balance of 100 Star Points.

3. One (01) Star Point is equivalent to Rs.1.00 (Rupee One).

4. A Subscriber may earn Star Points from any of Star Points Partner Merchant by providing the Subscriber’s Dialog mobile number (if the Subscriber is the valid holder of a Dialog mobile connection and if the Subscriber wishes to earn Star Points via the said access mode) or by presenting the Subscriber’s respective Star Points Loyalty Card as accepted by the respective Partner Merchant. The basis of Star Points allocation (minimum purchase value and the percentage of Star Points issued shall be determined at the absolute discretion of the respective Partner Merchant.

5. In the event the Subscriber is the registered user of a Dialog Mobile connection the Subscriber shall be responsible for the provision of the correct Dialog Mobile Number (if the same is the Subscriber’s preferred access mode) or the Star points Loyalty Card to the relevant Merchant (as accepted by the Merchant) and shall check and confirm the transaction details with the Merchant. When carrying out redemption and reversal transactions via a Dialog mobile number (if the same is the Subsriber’s preferred access mode) the Subscriber must also ensure that the relevant Authentication PIN and the Subscriber’s NIC number are duly provided to the Merchant upon request for same by the Merchant.

6. In the event the Subscriber is not a registered user of a Dialog Mobile Connection and / or opts to utilize the Star Points Loyalty Card herewith issued by Dialog or a Partner Merchant the Subscriber shall ensure that the relevant Star Points Loyalty Card is (as accepted by the Merchant) is provided to the Merchant thus enabling the Merchant to proceed with the Star Points transaction. The Subscriber shall thereafter check and confirm the transaction details with the Merchant.

7. Subscriber shall request for Reversals within five (05) days from the transaction date. In the event the Subscriber has not requested for Reversals within the said five (05) days limit, the Subscriber shall not be entitled to the specific Reversal. When effecting Reversals, the same shall be determined at the absolute discretion of the respective Partner Merchant.

8. If the Subscriber is not the holder of a Star Points Loyalty Card and is only participating in the Star Points Programme through the Subscriber’s subscription of a Dialog Mobile connection, then in such event the Subscriber may request to Redeem the accumulated Star Points as long as the Subscriber’s Dialog mobile connection is active. Further, such Subscriber can also request for Reversals as long as the Subscriber’s Dialog mobile connection is active. (Example: If the Connection is one way barred or connection is active the Subscriber can do Redemptions or Reversals. If the connection is two way barred or permanently disconnected, then the Subscriber shall not be able to do Redemptions or Reversals).

9. In the event the Subscriber is not a registered user of a Dialog Mobile Connection, the Subscriber is entitled to carry out Star Points transactions via the relevant Star Points Loyalty Card issued to the Subscriber or via any non-Dialog mobile connection number registered with the respective partner Merchant. In the event the ownership pertaining to such non-Dialog mobile number has been changed or terminated the Subscriber should inform Dialog or the relevant Merchant (by whom a Star Points Loyalty Card had been issued to the Merchant under such non-Dialog mobile connection) to terminate the Subscriber’s Star Points account.

10. Star Points once awarded has a validity period of minimum One (01) year and the Star Points which have not been utilized during the said period of One (01) year from the date of issuance of same will expire and the Subscriber will not be entitled to utilize such expired Star Points. The said expiration will take effect twice a year on the 30th of June and the 31st of December of every year.

11. The Subscriber may inquire his/her Star Points balance from the Merchant. In addition to this service, the Subscriber can also inquire the balance using his/her mobile (provided that the Subscriber is the registered user of a Dialog Mobile connection or Star Points Android app).

12. The information provided by the Subscriber in the registration form while obtaining a Star Points Loyalty Card will be utilized to communicate promotions and offers provided by the Star Points Loyalty Programme and the Subscriber hereby considered as consented for such usage upon sign off of this terms and conditions.

13. The Subscriber shall indemnify Dialog from whatsoever liability arising out his/her being a member of the Star Points Program.

14. Subscriber shall immediately inform any loss of the mobile phone with the mobile connection to Dialog. Dialog shall not be liable for any transactions carried out fraudulently during such time period.

15. Subscriber shall immediately inform any loss of the Star Points Loyalty Card to the respective partner Merchant by whom such card was issued. Dialog or the partner Merchant who issued the Star Points Loyalty Card to the Subscriber shall not be liable for any transactions carried out fraudulently during such time period.

16. The Subscriber shall indemnify and keep Dialog fully indemnified from and against all actions, claims, demands, cost, expenses, liabilities, loss, damages or other monetary relief brought, made or awarded against or incurred by Dialog resulting (directly or indirectly) or arising out of any transaction carried out by the Subscriber with any of the partner Merchants of Star Points Loyalty Programme.

17. Dialog nor any of their respective suppliers makes any representations or warranties, express or implied, including without limitation any warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, with respect to any of the services and/or products furnished by any of the Merchant or Dialog.

18. Dialog shall be entitled to suspend or terminate the subscription of a Subscriber from the Star Points Loyalty Programme at its absolute discretion.

19. Dialog shall be entitled to from time to time, to amend and vary the terms and conditions mentioned herein.
